Retreats are generally held at facilities that have peaceful surroundings and are often led by a spiritual director. Also included are retreats for people who simply want a break from a hectic lifestyle, family responsibilities or a bad emotional situation; space to heal following a traumatic experience; or just some tranquility and time alone to consider where they are in their lives.
