Taxonomy Code: JD-6500.0500-020
Programs that offer financial and other incentives that encourage implementation of low emission, high fuel efficiency technologies for on and off-road motor vehicles, agricultural pumping equipment, locomotives, commercial marine vessels, airport ground support equipment and other applications. Included are programs that provide cash grants, rebates, adjustments in sales tax figures or other financial inducements that encourage people to replace older high emission, gas guzzling vehicles with newer, low or zero emissions models with better fuel efficiency. Other programs encourage the replacement of old engines with newer ones that have substantially lower emissions or the retrofitting of existing engines to achieve the same objective. Recipients may be individuals with private vehicles or large organizations that maintain fleets of vehicles or significant amounts of other equipment. Income and other eligibility criteria may apply.
