Description:

Minority AIDS Support Services is a minority-owned and operated non-profit that supports Hampton Roads by providing free STD/HIV testing, food, and help with signing up for insurance and PrEP.

Hours:

Monday-Friday 9am-5pm (Appointment Only)

Intake Process:

Once client makes an appointment & come is at designed time their temperature is checked, a copy of their ID is made and they must feel out intake paperwork. They are then screened. Given swaps to take samples and directed to the lab for blood draw. Once process is complete, depending if they needed any of our resources, condoms or supplies they are then notified that they will receive a call with-in 4 to 7 business days regarding their results.

The purpose of the MASS Food Voucher Program is to guide the administration of the Ryan White Part A (RWPA) Food Voucher Program/ Food Bank/ Home Delivered Meals (a support service under the Ryan White HIV/AIDS Treatment Extension Act of 2009). The administration of Food Vouchers must be consistent with Ryan White Part A client eligibility criteria and the service category definition established by MASS.

Description

MASS continues to work hard achieving our mission to assist in sustaining and improving health, protecting the dignity and encouraging independent living of people living with HIV/AIDS. Through this project MASS manages the provision of the Food Voucher Program throughout the Transitional Grant area to people who have HIV/AIDS and are eligible for Ryan White Part A services. MASS maintains and provides for clients an up-to-date resource listing for both the Virginia Peninsula Food Bank as well as the Food Bank of Southeastern Virginia. This service provides certificates/gift cards in increments of $25 based upon household composition. Certificates/gift cards may be redeemed for food at cooperating supermarkets such as: ALDI Farm Fresh Walmart Food Lion Vouchers are provided from retailers who offer produce, meat, and dairy items, as well as personal hygiene items. Certificates/gift cards cannot be used to purchase alcohol, tobacco, illegal drugs or firearms. Certificates/gift cards may not be redeemed for cash.

Description

The MASS Medical Transportation program provides transportation services to medical, mental health, and certain human service appointments for anyone in the Hampton Roads area who has HIV/AIDS and is eligible for Ryan White Part A services. MASS also provides alternate forms of transportation (i.e. bus tokens or contracted taxi services.)
