Description:

Area Clinics provide a wide array of mental health, mental retardation and substance abuse services to residents of the cities of Colonial Heights, Dinwiddie, Emporia, Hopewell and Petersburg, and the counties of Dinwiddie, Greensville, Prince George, Surry and Sussex.

Our primary objective is to provide quality community-based services in the least restrictive setting to people in need by providing tools to improve their total overall level of functioning often resulting in personal growth and empowerment.
Our population may include adults with serious mental illness, children and adolescents with severe emotional disturbance as well as other consumers in need of mental health, mental retardation or substance abuse services

Hours:

Monday, Thursday, and Friday - 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Tuesday and Wednesday - 9:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.

Outpatient Mental Health Facilities

Eligibility

Under age 18; Ages 18 and older; Seniors 65 and older; Youth with serious emotional disturbance; Transition-aged young adults aged 18-25; Adults with serious mental illness; Individuals with Alzheimer's or dementia; Individuals with co-occurring mental and substance abuse disorders; Individuals with post-traumatic stress disorder; Forensic clients (referred from the court/judicial system);

Fees

Accepts Medicaid; Medicare; Client/patient fees (i.e., out-of-pocket); Private health insurance;

Languages

English, ASL or other assistance for hearing impaired; Spanish;
