Established in 1994, Arlington Free Clinic (AFC) continues to be Arlington!€™s only provider of comprehensive healthcare services for adults living with a low income and without health insurance. While there are approximately 10,000 uninsured adults in Arlington County, AFC is the medical home for over 1,600 of these underserved members of our community. Arlington Free Clinic provides low income, uninsured adult residents of Arlington County access to comprehensive medical care. Last year, AFC offered over 10,000 appointments for services including primary care, specialty care, women?s health, mental health, physical therapy, pharmacy and patient education, including access to dieticians and diabetes educators. The majority of the patients are immigrants working at low paying jobs that do not offer health insurance. All patients have income that is at or below 200% of the federal poverty level (approximately $44,000 for a family of 4). The majority have one or more chronic diseases that require ongoing care and access to medications.
